Activate Cycle Academy is a trading name of Activate Learning Further Education Corporation (Activate Learning), which is the data controller for all personal information collected via this website.

This website (activatecycleacademy.com) uses an automated database to store personal information. This website is created by and is the sole responsibility of Activate Learning. This privacy policy exists to inform our Users of the existence of this database and how it is operated.

2. OUR USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Information on registered Users is collected by Activate Learning from the registration forms on the website are obtained by Activate Learning for the sole purpose of delivering the services offered via the Website; including providing course information, course booking and other relevant services that may be of interest to the User.

3. OPTIONAL AND COMPULSORY INFORMATION

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) on the user registration form must be completed in order for requests to be processed. The other fields are optional.

The user guarantees that the information provided is truthful and is responsible for informing us of any changes and keeping it up-to-date.

4. NEWSLETTER AND ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

Activate Learning sends users who have given their prior consent, either on the registration form, contact form or checkout, a newsletter which includes the most relevant information and news on the Website. We do this using a tool called MailChimp (MailChimp privacy policy). The user can also edit their information or unsubscribe from the newsletter through a link at the foot of any newsletter or email.

Activate Learning will send electronic commercial communications with information on other products, services and events that may be of interest to the User, when expressly requested. Consent to receiving these communications can be cancelled at any time.

5. DATA SHARING

Activate Learning will routinely share Users’ data with Cytech for the delivery of the User’s course and the facilitation of learning. Our legal basis for the sharing of this personal data is ‘Performance of Contract’ and ‘Public Task’.

Activate Learning will also share your information with the facilities at which courses are run for the purposes of complying with health and safety legislation. Our legal basis for the sharing of this personal data is ‘Performance of Contract’ and ‘Legal Obligation’.

This website uses contact forms protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

6. SECURITY

Activate Learning takes the security of personal information very seriously, and has put all the necessary technical measures in place in order to avoid the loss, misuse, altering, unauthorised access or theft of information provided by Users via the Website.

Activate Learning has an account with Stripe, the secure online payment system. Activate Learning do not collect or maintain any customer credit/debit card information, except for the last four credit/debit card digits and card expiry date for customer opted saved cards by registered users only. The following customer data is collected and stored for a total period of 12 months to allow us to process your order, either by ‘guest’ or ‘registered user’ checkout.

Attendee(s) Details:

The following attendee data is collected and stored for a total period of 12 months so we have a record of who will be attending the course. This information is also used for processing qualifications and certificates (where applicable) after successful completion of a course.

Registered User Details:

The following customer data is stored when a user registers a new account on our website (accounts that are left inactive for 12 months will be deleted along with all associated customer data).

  • Last four credit/debit card digits and card expiry date (for customer opted saved cards only)
  • Password (can be changed by the registered user at any time via ‘My Account’ on the website)

8. COOKIES AND IPS

This website uses cookies and IP monitoring. Our traffic analyst (Google Analytics) uses cookies and IP monitoring to gather statistical data such as: date of first visit, number of visits, date of last visit, source URL and domain, browser/device used, screen resolution, and purchases. However, if desired, the User can de-activate these cookies via the cookie manager on this website on in their browser settings.

Activate Learning uses the digital advertising platforms ‘Google Ads’ and ‘Meta Ads’. When a visitor to this website gives their prior consent, a cookie is added to their browser from which Google and Meta gather information to publish relevant ads that may be of interest. Site visitors can disable the use of cookies at any time via the cookie manager on this website or in their browser settings.

Activate Learning does not use spamming techniques and will only deal with information that the User provides through the electronic forms on the Website or by e-mail.

The use of information of a personal nature and the sending of electronic commercial communications comply with the current Data Protection Act and all its amendments.

We use a Facebook Feed plugin to display social media content on our website. As a result, our website makes requests to Facebook’s servers in order to display images and videos.
