We are the UK’s foremost training organisation for Cytech commercial and Apprenticeship based Cycle Mechanic Training. Due to continued high demand we are seeking to recruit a Workshop Trainer to set up and run a new Cycle Mechanic Workshop in Bracknell, Berkshire. This position is a fixed 1 year contract and will be reviewed at the end of that period – based on the ongoing demand for Training.

Qualified to at least Cytech Technical Two level or equivalent already (ideally Technical Three) and with TAQA / PTLLS qualifications (or prepared to work towards these) you will be based at Bracknell College running our new Park Tool sponsored Cytech Workshop – kitted out with facilities for 8 Learners and delivering Cytech Technical One, Two and Three training as well as Home Mechanic and other courses from the workshop. We expect you to take pride in your abilities and to aim to deliver outstanding service to our Learners.

You will be a self-motivated person of some experience within the Cycle Industry and be passionate and knowledgeable about all types of bikes. You will have a good ‘coaching style’ of training and a deep understanding of how the Cycle Industry functions and the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that are needed to be successful within the Industry. You will also have good attention to detail and the ability to manage your workload, to keep robust records of your courses and learner progress, and to deliver meaningful feedback in order for your learners to make great progress in their skills and abilities.

You will be required to ensure your workshop is kept in pristine condition and to manage a consumables budget within target and to ensure all our KPI are achieved. Your attention to detail and Health and Safety standards will be second to none. You will also be required to liaise with sessional staff to ensure coverage of weekend Home Mechanic courses at your workshop.

You will have personal input into the ongoing design and delivery of the Cytech Training delivery and into the Cycle Mechanic Apprenticeship Standard delivery, and be an advocate not only for our business but also for Cycling in general.

Occasional weekend working may be required, along with occasional PR activity such as attending Bike Shows, you may also be required to undertake field based commercial Cytech assessments.

Pay scale £26-29k qualified + expenses (travel, accommodation and subsistence when away from home) A computer and mobile phone and a uniform will be provided.
